Meeting of Kaizen Club of the Ukrainian Association of Furniture Manufacturers Took Place in Kyiv

On the 4 of November the 9^th Meeting of Kaizen Club of Ukrainian Association of Furniture Manufacturers dedicated to the innovations in design area was held in Kyiv.

The meeting gathered representatives of the companies -association members:  owners,  directors, sector directors and designers, who discussed the most important issues concerning the implementation of innovative solutions in furniture design and its usage as an instrument of promotion and sales; major prospects of Ukrainian design and basic trends of the current season were defined during the meeting.

Deputy General Director of Kyiv International Contract Fair and Director of the Committee of the exhibition activity of the Ukrainian Association of Furniture Manufacturers Mr. Viktor Pashynskyy highlighted  the necessity of  the transformation of nonstandard design into efficient sales instrument: ‘Now consumer is ready to buy not only high-quality but also trendy goods.  And he is ready to pay for it. That’s why design must form the customers need to buy these gods’. However, in his opinion, equally with attractive design we should not forget about other marketing methods, connected with promotion of goods.

Vice-President of Ukrainian Association of Furniture Manufacturers, co-owner of the company Snite Mr. Sergei Verminskii pointed out high necessity to discuss innovations in design area. As Ukrainian companies and designers possess huge potential for creation of market tendencies: ‘We do have what to do and what to show; sometimes we just underestimate our potential and copy Western tendencies’.

Designers Ms. Viktoriia Zaboeva (company Snite) and Ms. Anna Manakova (company Giampieri International) spoke about general tendencies 2011 in furniture industry and design as one of the Kaizen principles.

Organizers of the meeting:  Ukrainian Association of Furniture Manufacturers and Kyiv International Contract Fair, organizer of the exhibitions Design Living Tendency, KIFF and МТКТ.

Kyiv International Contract Fair deals not only with organization of the leading specialized exhibitions but also supports intentions of the participants of Kaizen club aimed at solving the basic challenges of the furniture market participants. Innovations topic was discussed several times at the events of Design Living Tendency and new project Theatre of Modern Design helped many talented designers to inform public about themselves and their unique works, so this time Kaizen club meeting became logical consequence of the exhibition.

Exhibitions Design Living Tendency and МТКТ were held successfully on October 5-8, 2011.
